Policy: All students are urged to complete a one-on-one New Student Orientation with an Academic Advisor upon acceptance into the University. After registration, all students are added to the New Student Orientation classroom in the University’s online learning management system, Brightspace D2L. Students retain access to the New Student Orientation classroom and its included resources throughout their program.

Purpose: To orient students on navigating the classroom, policies and procedures, and rights and responsibilities as a student. The New Student Orientation allows the Academic Advisors to walk students through the Brightspace (D2L) orientation classroom to help them gain confidence with navigating the online classroom and become familiar with basic course expectations.

Scope: The scope of this policy applies to all new university students.
