307-9 Change of Programs

Title: Change of Programs
Owner: Registrar
Last Update/Revised: 07/31/2024

Policy: Some students decide after matriculation that they are better suited for another program at the University. In such cases, students may request to transfer to a new program by contacting their Academic Advisor for a Program Change Request Form. All general and program specific admissions requirements for the newly requested program must be met at the time the request is made. Changing between certain programs (i.e. a Master's to a Doctoral program) are not allowed; students should consult with their Academic Advisor to discuss their academic goals prior to submitting the Program Change form. Program Change Requests are processed by the Registrar's Office; processing may be delayed if the student submits their Program Change Request form while active in a course.

Purpose: The purpose of this policy is to allow students the flexibility to change their program. Students should note that their transfer credit and previously completed Aspen University courses will be evaluated at the time that the program change request is processed. Courses that are not applicable to the new program will not count toward degree completion in their new program. Changes to a student's program may also have implications on tuition and/or financial aid. Students should reach out to Financial Aid and/or Student Finance to discuss these potential implications prior to submitting the Program Change Request Form.
